World Bank will give Rs 3000 crore for food parks
New Delhi. The World Bank will provide Rs 3,000 crore to support mega and mini food parks across the country, mainly in the northeastern part of India. Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Rameshwar Teli said that this step would boost the income of farmers.
The minister said that some minor formalities are yet to be complete before the disbursement of the sanctioned amount. He said while addressing the 15th Indo-US Economics Conference, the World Bank has agreed to approve an amount of Rs 3,000 crore for the Ministry of Food Processing to enable mega and mini food parks across the country.
He said the government is focusing more on the mega and mini food parks so that the grain produced by the farmers is processed as expected and the farmers get the benefit of such policy decisions. Efforts are being made to approve food parks and mini food parks within the 10-acre land ceiling as large-scale land is not available in every state.
