The incidence of this pest is generally started after one month of the planting. Infested plants showed curling effect and bending from the ground level. The infestation is depending on prevailing environment and irrigation period. As the temperature increases, population of thrips also increased. The incidence is generally lower in the furrow transplanted field. For the control of thrips, spray spinosad 45 SC @ 2 ml or chlorfenpyr 10 EC @ 7.5 ml or fipronil 5 SC @ 20 ml per 10 lit of water.
