New Delhi: The central government has given a big gift to the farmers before Diwali. The government has extended the deadline for linking the account with Aadhaar till November 30 to avail an annual benefit of Rs 6,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme.
This decision was made in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the cabinet has decided to make the deadline for compulsory linking of Aadhaar with the account 30 November 2019 for releasing funds under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi after August 1, 2019. He said that this step has been taken to provide relief to the farmers before sowing of Rabi crops. The minister said that 7 crore farmers have already benefited under the PM-Kisan scheme. Under this, farmers will be receiving Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments.
