Things to keep in mind while adding manure to the soil!
1) Farmers mix manure stored in pits and use that fertilizer throughout the year. Such dung should be thoroughly decomposed. In this dung, larvae of insects such as cockroaches, beetles, rhinoceros beetle larvae are found. Which many farmers call "dung beetle". The larvae of various such beetles are spread through manure and damage the main crop in the field. 2) The female beetles lay eggs in decaying material like dung in the months of May-June. Therefore, manure pits, piles etc. should be emptied in early May and this manure should be mixed in the field. This will prevent the spread of eggs after laying eggs. When manure is added to the soil, the beetle worm found in it must be removed and destroyed. 3) When there is a shortage of fodder on summer days, farmers leave their animals to graze in open fields. Their dung is scattered in the fields. 4) With rains occurring in late May or early June, white-braided female beetles lay their eggs in such rotting dung. Therefore, the next season crop in such areas is affected by the larvae. 5) In some fields, in the same area where goats and sheep are reared, the occurrence of humus during monsoon is more prevalent. Well decomposed dung will not contain fungus that causes wilting, root rot. 6) Weeds are often used as animal feed. The soil hanging on the roots of such weeds, moves into the pit with dung along with pathogenic spores. It grows with other organic materials at that location. At such times, organic processing of manure is necessary.
