Selection of goat - • The goats should be bought with the guidance of the veterinary doctor. • Generally a she goat should be selected which has one lambing.This will help us to understand all the other characteristics. e.g. number of lambs, milk production, disease, behaviour etc. • It is better if the goat is selected by checking her lineage. Its mother should be the one giving birth to twins. • The facts like the age of goat, number of lambs and milk production capacity should be checked. • The goat should be agile, bigger in size, hair should be soft and shiny. • If the goat is milch, it is important to check its udder and to check milk by extracting. • The goat should be straight, long from mouth to tail.
