Sulphur is Necessary for your Crops
• Sulphur is one of the most essential secondary elements for crops._x000D_
• It is also used as a fungicide and insecticide._x000D_
• Sulphur is important for crop growth and development as it plays a key role in_x000D_
the process of photosynthesis.
Benefits of Sulphur:_x000D_
• Sulphur increases the spiciness, oil content, smell, protein and_x000D_
sugar content and also improves the quality of the produce. Therefore, sulphur should be used_x000D_
in crops namely onion, turmeric, ginger, soybean, groundnut, sugarcane, and_x000D_
vegetables._x000D_
• Sulphur improves nutrient availability such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus,_x000D_
Ferrous, Zinc, and Boron._x000D_
• Sulphur is a heat source and can, therefore, be used to replenish the soil_x000D_
when excess moisture is present during the rainy season and enables the plant to_x000D_
grow strong._x000D_

Pests and Disease control:_x000D_
• To control Powdery Mildew and Red Mites, sulphur is sprayed onto the plant_x000D_
canopy. Spray 80% Sulphur @2 gm per litre of water._x000D_

Symptoms of Sulphur Deficiency:_x000D_
• If there is a deficiency of sulphur in the plant, it results in a pale yellow_x000D_
colour near the stalk of the leaf._x000D_
• If organic matter is lacking in sandy soils, it may be due to sulphur_x000D_
deficiency._x000D_

• Initially, sulphur can be supplied with fertilizers as a basal dose or in_x000D_
vertical crops by means of drip and other fertilizers such as Benesulf 90%,_x000D_
Kosavate fertilisers 90%, Sulfamax Gromore 90%, Zuari Sulphur 90% can be used._x000D_
• Sulphur is also available in fertilizers such as single superphosphate,_x000D_
sulfate of potash, 20:20:00:13, 00:00:50 (water soluble)._x000D_

Care to be taken:_x000D_
Avoid using it in summer as sulphur generates a lot of heat in the soil._x000D_
