See, chilli leaves look like rat’s tail? Which pest is responsible?
Your chilli crop is infested with mites. The symptoms are quite difference when compared with thrips damage. Due mites, the length of petiole is increase i.e. rat tail symptom. There is downward curling of leaves giving an inverted boat shaped appearance. Numerous spots are appeared on chilli fruit on one side toward petiole. The length of chilli fruit is decrease drastically. Plant growth is arrested (stunted growth). Spray cyenopyrafen 30% SC @ 10 ml or propargite 57 SC @ 10 ml or hexythiazox 5.45 EC @ 5 ml or fipronil 7% + hexythiazox 2% SC @ 20 ml per 10 lit of water.
