Recommendation to increase MSP of Gram by Rs.375
The Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices has made a recommendation to the Central Government to increase Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Gram by Rs.375/quintal for the coming financial year. Currently, the MSP of Gram is Rs.3,800 per quintal and Rs. 200 above it.
Along with Gram, the recommendation has also been made for increasing the MSP of mustard by Rs.250/quintal. Currently, the MSP of Gram is Rs.3,600 per quintal and Rs.100 above it. Meanwhile, the ministry of agriculture has not given any instructions to increase the MSP of Gram and Mustard, informed the sources. Gram has 40% share in the pulses yield of the Rabi season. On the other hand, Mustard has 20% share in the yield of oil seeds.To fulfill the internal demand of pulses and oil seeds, they are being imported for last few years. So, the increase in the yield of pulses and oil seeds is being encouraged. Proposal to increase MSP of wheat by Rs.100. For the season 2018-19 ( April-March),the Commission for Agricultural Costs & Prices has made a recommendation to the Central Government to increase MSP of wheat by Rs.100.
