Procedures of Soil Sampling
For soil sampling, the use of fertilizers and the selected area of each type must be unique to the selection of the soil pattern. Avoid collecting samples of soil from dams, stones, wet springs, and trees in a dry place. When selecting a complete soil sample under the plant root, select the sample by moving in a zigzag pattern, i.e. like the English alphabet ‘Z’ shape, and collect 15-20 samples. When Agar soil digging equipment is unavailable, then use pickax to sample the soil, dig the soil in' V' shape as it is easy to take the soil sample.
Collect all samples in a plastic bag, remove dust, and agricultural waste. After removing dust and agricultural waste, make soil samples collected from all parts of the field, and divide them into four equal parts and take 500 grams of soil from the plastic bag. In addition to the soil sample, mention all details of the soil sample, i.e. farmer’s name, crop name, village, tehsil, district, and finally send it to the soil and water testing laboratory.
