Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi: First Installation by 24 February
The first instalment of the scheme for Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) will be available on February 24, to about one crore farmers across the country. According to a senior official of the Ministry of Agriculture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally launch this scheme on 24 February at a farmers' rally in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. According to them, about one crore farmers will receive the first instalment.
Second Instalment by 1st April!
The second instalment is scheduled to be introduced on 1 April. The official informed that the preparation of farmers' data in the states is being worked on speedily; however, some states will not be able to make the data live on the portal until 24 February. Nearly a dozen states have prepared 95% of the data, while the level states have prepared details of 80% of farmers. According to the official, the states of which the farmers will be identified by 20 February will be transferred Rs 2000 on 24 February.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, Rs 6,000 per year will be given in three instalments for five acres of small and marginal farmers. The Centre has asked states to upload the list of farmers ' beneficiaries until 24-25 February.
