Spraying is a tough task in sugarcane field. In order to keep the whitefly infestation low, do not raise crop in a field that is waterlogged and the soil is alkaline. The infestation is generally higher in ratoon crop. Follow recommended dose of nitrogenous and phosphoric fertilizers. Postpone spray of any insecticides on seeing the circular hole on the puparia of whitefly.
