Pod borer in chickpea at vegetative stage:
Most of the farmers will have sown chickpea crop and current crop stage will be in its vegetative growth. During this stage, pod borer (Helicoverpa) larvae feed on the leaves of the plants. Under higher infestation, plants become blunt and growth is arrested. On having 15 larvae per 20 plants (ETL), spray thiodicarb 75 WP @ 20 g or chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 3 ml or emamectin benzoate 5 SG @ 5 g per 10 lit of water and get controlled.
