Pod borer at flowering stage of chickpea crop:
The emerging larvae initially scrape the upper layer of leaves and feed. Rapidly grown larvae feed on buds, flowers and even developing pods. The infestation is generally low in rainfed chickpea crop than the irrigated crop. As the temperature rises, the larval population is also increased. As per the recent recommendation given by Junagadh Agril. University, spray chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 3.25 ml with neem oil @ 50 ml per 10 lit of water. Also add good sticker in insecticidal solution while spraying.
