Monsoon has knocked in almost all parts of the country. During this time, farmers have started sowing Kharif Crops. Meanwhile, the government has issued notifications related to Kharif crops insurance by issuing notifications. It has been told that farmers should get their crops insured for protection from natural disasters. Farmers who want to take advantage of Pradhan mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, should inform their bank branch before 31st July 2020.
Why did the crop insurance scheme started?
With the help of PM Crop Insurance Scheme, farmers are provided relief in the loss caused by natural havoc. It started on 13 January 2016.
These documents are necessary for insurance
If a farmer wants to insure his crop, then some important documents are required, which are mentioned below.
Pan Card
Driving license
Voter ID Card
Passport
Aadhar Card
Mobile number
Account Number
Premium amount
Farmers have to pay 2 percent premium for the kharif crop. A 5% premium has to be paid for the Rabi crop.
Insurance cover is also provided for commercial and horticultural crops. For this, farmers have to pay a 5 % premium amount.
KCC owners themselves come under the purview of insurance
It is important information that farmers who take loans for farming with Kisan Credit Card, their crop itself comes under the purview of insurance. Whereas, this scheme is voluntary. That is, farmers can insure the crop according to their wish. For this, applications can be made by visiting Common Services Centers.
