PM Kisan Sampada Yojana' to Boost Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas
New Delhi. The government recently approved about 32 projects in the food processing sector under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY). Preparations are being made to implement these projects in about 17 states. Funds worth about Rs. 406 crore has also been approved under this scheme._x000D_

What is the purpose of the project?_x000D_
1. Around 15,000 people will be directly and indirectly employed under these projects. Apart from this, maximum employment opportunities will be provided in rural areas._x000D_
2. Modern processing techniques will prevent wastage of agricultural produce so that the income of farmers can be doubled._x000D_
3. Indian farmers will be connected with consumers in the international and domestic markets._x000D_

What is PM Kisan Sampada Yojana?_x000D_

The scheme started in August 2017. Its main objective is to modernize agriculture, reduce agricultural wastage and advance agricultural development with the help of modern infrastructure. Correct management and infrastructure should be created in agricultural development. Farmers should get a right and better price for their produce. Apart from this, employment opportunities to be given in rural areas of the country._x000D_
