Pan of Kerala gets GI tag
Pan from Kerala has been awarded GI tag. Along with this, Palani Panchamirtham in Palani town in the state of Tamil Nadu, Tallohpuan and Mizopuanchei in the Northeastern state of Mizoram has been registered and provided GI tags. According to the Department of Industry and Internal Trade Promotion, it has recently registered four types of new geographical indicators. In fact, GI tags are identified to products that are found only in a specific geographical area and have local characteristics in them. Once the GI tag is installed, that product becomes unique. At the time of purchasing any product of GI tag, customers are highly confident about its uniqueness and quality. Products with GI tags benefit the rural economy in remote areas.
