Onion expensive again after a month!
After about a month, onion has become expensive again because the lot from Karnataka is not arriving on time and due to rain in Nashik, the crop is wet and its inwarding has stopped. Wet onion in Nashik has increased the price of onion in mandis across the country. On Sunday, the price of onion in Mandi reached Rs. 50 per kg.
Prices are likely to increase further in the next week. Traders say that this situation has come after many years when the price of onion has increased after Diwali. As onions became expensive in the wholesale market, the retail market has also started picking up and onion has started selling again for Rs 60 per kg. This situation preceded Navratri and has returned again. Onion prices are based on the mandis of Maharashtra in the country. The prices in Nasik and Lasalgaon Mandi are strong. Also, onion production in the country has come down._x000D_ _x000D_ Source - Dainik Bhaskar, 04 November 2019_x000D_ If you find this information useful, click on the yellow thumbs up sign under the photo and also share this with your farmer friends using the options given below._x000D_
