In modern cultivation of tomato crop, drip method is used for irrigating field with plastic mulching sheets of silver black color of 25 to 30 micron thickness. Due to weed management as well as the reduction in the amount of irrigation water, the infestation of succulents in tomato is reduced. The mulching technique has increased the yield by 40 to 50 percent.
