Lime fruit cultivation technology:
Lime trees are raised from seeds, for this seeds are planted in seed beds and within two months of sowing the seedlings will be ready for transplanting. For grafting the seedlings it will take 4-5 months time. From one year after transplanting the seedlings in the main field, pruning operation can be performed in the spring season, pruning includes the removal of dead branches, foliage touching the ground and removing suckers around the trunk. Fertilizers should be given 3-4 times during spring and summer season for proper growth of the plant. Pesticides and fungicides should also be sprayed on crop canopy when there is pest and disease infestation. Lime tree starts bearing fruits from 3rd year onwards. When the fruits attains good size they are harvested and sent to processing unit for processing.
