Life Cycle of Aphids
Economic Importance:- Nymphs of aphids causes damage to the soft stems, leaves, flowers and new pods by sucking the sap, as well as they secrets honeydew on the leaves. This causes an of black sooty mould development. The infection of this insect causes from December to March. Up to 50% loss is caused by this insect.
Nymph:- Initially, this insect appears in November. A high number of female give birth to nymph. These nymphs become adults in 3-6 days.
Adult:- Adult insects are winged and wingless, and are green and light grey.
Control:- When the pest infestation is high Oxydemeton - Methyl 25% EC @ 1000 ml in 500 litres of water, Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 100g/Acre in 500 litres water, Acetamprid 1.1% + Cypermethrin 5.5% EC @ 175 ml in 500 litres of water should be sprayed per hectare.
Note: - According to different crops, the quantity of insecticide dosage varies depends on crop.
