Red colour nymphs & adults suck the sap from the seeds in the green bolls. Due to the secretion and excreta, unwanted bacteria and fungi are formed and the quality of the fibre is deteriorated. The incidence has increased somewhat since the last three years. There may be a significant economic loss if the incidence is much greater in the cotton field-grown for seed purposes.
