In general more fruit dropping are seen during the months of September to October. The primary causes of fruit dropping is increasing incidence of fruit sucking moth. In general, about 10-15 percent of the fruit dropping is due to more attack of fruit sucking moth. 1. Usage of light traps: At the time of fruit maturity, light traps to be placed at four corners of the orchard and one in the center. For effective use, place mercury lamps and put kerosene diluted with water in the bottom of the vessel. These lights should be ON in the night between 10 and 11pm. 2. Remove the weeds that grow on the boundaries of the Orange orchard. 3. If possible, cover the fruits with paper during the time of maturity. 4. Spray Neem oil 50 ml per pump at 10-15 days of intervals, till the fruit is ripe and ready to harvest.
