Instructions given to the State Government by the Center
NEW DELHI - To control the rising prices of onion and cereals, the state government has directed Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to buy them from the buffer stock of the Center. At the same time, he said that they should also focus on creating cost stabilization funds in each state. Minister Paswan was speaking to reporters after holding the fifth National Advisory Meeting of the Minister of State, Secretary and Food, Civil, Supplies and Consumers at Vigyan Bhawan. All states have now come under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). There is a need for large-scale state participation in the rice storage scheme. He also asked the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir to register the requirements under the Food Security Act. He said that it was necessary to store the necessary grain before winter begins.
