Heavy rains in the state have increased the cultivation of turmeric in the last week of June. So far, turmeric has been cultivated in 2 lakh 38 thousand hectares. Sources of turmeric research said that turmeric cultivation has increased by 3.55% or 8,000 hectares over the previous year. Haryana, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan have also increased the cultivation of turmeric. Scientists at the centre say that there is currently a favourable environment for turmeric. Although there was a decrease in rainfall, but it has become normal.
