Increase in the minimum support prices for wheat, gram and lentil
The central government has decided to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of wheat, along with wheat for the 2018-19 rabi season on Wednesday (April). According to the decision taken at the Union Cabinet meeting, the minimum support price of wheat has been increased from Rs. 105 to Rs. 1840 per quintal.
Masur, Gram also increased
For other crops, the increase in MSP was increased per quintal. For instance, Masur-225, Kadai-245 and HB-220. Due to this increase, the farmers will receive a nominal price of Rs. 4275, Rs. 4945 and Rs. 4620 respectively for these three crops. Apart from this, the price of Jaws MSP has increased to Rs 1440 from 30 rupees per msp.
