Install fruit fly traps in your fields to protect the crops from fruit flies. The trap consists of a small plastic container with a piece of plywood treated with methyl eugenol and dichlorvos which is hung on the tree. This trap attracts male fruit flies. In the absence of a male insect, females fail to copulate and therefore the population of the insect reduces. Install Six to eight traps per acre.
