How to do plantation of Paper Lemon
1. For cultivation of Paper Lemon crop, choose the soil of type medium, black, light rocky, well drained, without much limestone and salts.Normally, soil with pH 6.5 to 7.5 and having less than 0.1 percent of salts is better for plantation of paper lemon.
2. This is a irrigated, lasting many years fruit tree, so, plantation is to be done where assured water supply facility is available.
3. While doing plantation keep 6x6 meter distance between the two trees. For plantation, dig 1x1x1 meter pit in summer and heat it well.
4. Before rainy season, put 1.5 Kg Single Super Phosphate, 5 to 6 gong good decomposed dung manure, neem oil cake and fill the pit with good quality alluvial soil. Then plant good quality seedlings in it and manage them properly.
5. For cultivation, make selection of these varieties, Sai Sarbati, Phule Sarbati, Vikram.
6. After plantation of paper lemon trees, during first four to five years, in the free ground space between two trees of the paper lemon before bearing fruits, take intercrops like Onion, Garlic, Moong, Gram, Groundnut, Wheat.
7. While intercropping, take precaution that it will not have adverse effect on the main crop and the fertility of the vineyard will remain constant. Apart from the main crop, give the recommended dosage of fertilizers separately to the intercrops.
