How do you identify the damage caused by fruit sucking moth in tomato?
Currently reports on fruit sucking moths are coming up. The larvae of these insect never damage to the crops but adults enter their mouth parts by making hole on the half ripen tomato fruit and suck the juice during the dusk period. More than pin holes are seen on the fruit. The area around it becomes soft and rotten take place inside the fruit due to the entry of microorganisms. If you want to make sure of this pest, go to the field with battery (torch) and do light on; the moths will hit you. Fruits are no longer fit to be sold or eaten.
