Grape Export Increased to 25%
Nashik: More than one lakh tonnes of grapes were exported from India to Europe and the UK market through 8,400 containers during the first week of April. About 1,000 containers of grapes have been exported to Russia, while large quantities of exports are initiated to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Middle East Asia. The grape-farmers are likely to announce the possibility of crossing the mark of two lakh tonnes by the end of April.
Compared to last year, the grape export increased to 25% this year and 88,202 tonnes of Indian grapes were exported to the European market during the first week of April. This year, there has been an increase in grape production from one to three million tonnes. A few days earlier, India exported about 8,400 Indian grape containers to Europe and other countries around the world.
