Good news for farmers! Now you will get Rs 5,000 every year
New Delhi. The Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) has recommended the central government to give Rs 5,000 to farmers in addition to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). The Commission has said that Farmers should be given Rs. 5,000 as Fertilizer Subsidy every year. The Commission has recommended that this amount can be transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts (DBT) two times. Under this, Rs 2,500 can be given in the Kharif Crop and Rs 2,500 in the season of Rabi Crop.
Due to the subsidy received by the fertilizer companies, farmers currently get urea and P&K fertilizer at a cheaper price in the market. In lieu of this, the government gives the amount equal to the difference between the actual price and the subsidized price with the discount. The government currently gives 2000 rupees to farmers under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) three times. So far 9 crore farmers are registered in this scheme. If the recommendation is accepted, then the government will give Rs 11,000 to the farmers every year with fertilizer subsidy.
