Good news: Farmers can become owners of seed bank, know the conditions to get license!
The central government is constantly making efforts to make the farmers self-reliant. Meanwhile, another important step has been taken. Actually, it has been announced by the Central Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department that the seed bank scheme will be started on a large scale. Under this scheme, district wise seed banks will be set up across the country. Along with this, the farmers will be given the license of the seed bank. In this way farmers will be able to become self-sufficient in the field of seed production. What is the plan? Under this scheme, seed banks will be established in 650 districts of the country. At this time, farmers make about 30 percent of the seeds themselves, while for the remaining seeds, they depend on the market or the availability of government seeds. This sometimes leads to poor quality of seeds, which results in lower crop yields. In such a situation, the farmers were able to be active in the right direction, so the ministry has relaxed the previous licensing rules too. Along with this, farmers will be trained at the local Krishi Prasar Kendra. License Qualifications: • The 10th pass will be sufficient for the license of Seed Bank. • The farmer should have at least 1 acre of land on his own, share or lease. Registration and certification will have to be done for the level and standards of seeds from the state level. Will get government help: Let me tell you that one time lump sum will be given by the government. Apart from this subsidy will also be given on storage facilities, training facilities and available resources. The special thing is that the state government will be responsible for making the market available to the farmers who get the license of the seed bank. The value of seed will be decided: The best thing is that the value of the seed will be decided beforehand. For this, the State Seeds Corporation will determine the purchase price on the basis of processing seeds by adding 20 percent amount on MSP of minimum support price of the crop. If there is a seed bank at the district level, the farmer will be able to get good and cheap seeds, as well as get a high quality crop.
