Isabgol is an important cash crop, the thin peel found above its seed is a medicinal product. Which is used as a husk. In isabgol, 25-30% husk, 65% shell, and 2% Flour are produced. Suitable climate: It can be easily grown in hot climates. For cultivation, marginal land with a pH value of around 7-8 is considered to be fine. At the time of germination, the seed should have a temperature of 20-25 degrees centigrade.
Land selection: Sandy loam soil with a high fossil content is considered the best for the cultivation of isabgol. Preparation of field: Upon harvesting the kharif crop, field cleaning and two to three ploughings should be carried out to the soil fine tilth stage. Advanced Varieties: Choose the varieties for Isobgol cultivation based on the climate and soil of your area. Seeds and Sowing: The best time to sow Isabgol seeds is from the last week of October to the first week of November. It can be sown by spraying seeds on rows. Sow the seeds by treating with Vitavax 3 grams per kg and mix the seeds in the soil. Manure and Fertiliser: For more production of Isabgol, mix dung manure at the time of ploughing of 15 to 20 tonnes per hectare. Apart from this, nitrogen 50 kg, phosphorus 40 kg, and potash 25 kg are required. Irrigation Management: Irrigation is more important in dry area, so after first sowing of seeds, do light irrigation. Second irrigation should be done after one week of sowing. Apart from this, irrigate the dry area ten days according to the season. Harvesting: The best time to harvest the Isabgol crop is the time when the pinnacle turn red and the mash is separated by hand. Its pinnacle should be plucked according to the ripening condition every two to three days.
