Fertilizer is being made available to farmers at affordable prices: Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister
Nutrients are very important in crop production, by giving the right amount of fertilizers at the right time, the crops grow well, which also increases the production. All the farmers in the country use manure for crop production. The prices of fertilizers are controlled by the government, the government also gives subsidy to fertilizer producing companies. So that fertilizers are available at low rates to all farmers.
Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri DV Sadanand Gowda has said that the Department of Fertilizers of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has produced / In-depth investigation of import costs has been initiated. Shri Gowda said that due to this initiative of effective monitoring system by the department, fertilizer companies have adopted a voluntary self-regulatory mechanism and thus the price fall in the international market of Recycled Liquified Natural Gas (Regasified Liquified Natural Gas -RLNG). The profits have been given to the farmers by the producing companies.
Mr. Gowda said that the price of DAP has come down from Rs 26,396 per MT in August 2019 to Rs 24,626 per MT in August 2020. Similarly, out of 18 NPK fertilizer formulations, the MRP for 15 formulations is reduced during August 2020 as compared to August 2019. The price of ammonium sulfate has come down from Rs 13,213 per MT in August 2019 to Rs 13,149 per MT in August 2020.
