Effective Methods to Control Rodents in the Farms
Rats cause severe damage to various crops, including vegetables, oilseeds, cereals, etc., at the early stages of development. By transmitting illnesses such as plague, leptospirosis, and others, they also harm humans and other livestock. Below are details of crop damage and remedies for better understanding. Symptoms: Rats/rodents cause significant harm to crops in the farms and grains stored in warehouses or storage rooms. If the holes are apparent at the farms ' boundary and near the canals, rodents have certainly infested. As a consequence, water enters the hole which is absorbed and leads to a rise in ploughing expenses. It is necessary to maintain bunds and water channels in and around the areas. Infection of rats in sugarcane, wheat, gram, turmeric, ginger, paddy, groundnut, and other plants is commonly encountered. Control: To control the damage caused by rodents, poison bait should be used in any crop. Zinc phosphide and single-dose toxin should be used to create this bait. First, mix 100 gm of flour and 5 ml of edible oil into balls or biscuits that should be placed near the holes. This should be followed so that the rodents get accustomed to the consumption of this mixture. Add 3 gm or Zinc Sulphide together with the aforementioned combination. Consuming this substance will, therefore, lead to the rodents' disappearance.
