Some of the farmers have been questioning about the breaking of their brinjal plants from the stem near the soil surface. If you see these kinds of plants & splitting the stem, you will see a white coloured caterpillar inside. It’s known as brinjal stem borer. The infested plants do not regenerate further. Hence, whatever the plants seen with this kind of symptom, remove and destroy from the field periodically to avoid further migration of the disease.
