Don’t worry, if such larvae appear in cotton, it’s a beneficial insect
Larval stages of this insect, syrphid fly (hoverfly) feeds on sucking insect pests infesting cotton crops and provides an example of a noble predatory insect. If the population is on a high level, extend the period of spray for sucking pests. Adults will also be seen if the population is large in the field.
