Be sure to keep this in mind: A paddy stem borer passes its dormant stage after over the crop in its larval stage inside the paddy stubbles or paddy plants present out of the field on the field boundaries. And it become active as and when paddy crop is available and to attack on new crop, either in nursery or transplanted paddy. So, when you are going to harvest the crop, cut the plants nearer to soil (ground) surface. In addition, after harvest the paddy, collect & destroy the paddy stubbles as early as and follow the ploughing the field with tractor cultivator. Doing so, the incidence of this pest can be minimizing in next season or next year.
