Damage due to mustard sawfly larvae:
The incidence of these larvae is more economically damaging if it occurs in the week after the germination of mustard crop. The infestation of these pest is rare if the farmers have treated the seed with imidacloprid 70 WS (700 g/ 100 kg of seeds) before sowing. The farmers who have sown without treating the seeds need to be vigilant against this pest. Effective control can be achieved by spraying of dimethoate 30 EC @ 10 ml or quinalphos 25 EC 2 20 ml per 10 lit of water.
