Sowing Time: The ideal time to sow cumin is from mid-October to mid-November. Manures and Fertilisers: 8 to 10 tonnes of cow dung manure 30 kg Urea, 20 kg Phosphorus (single super manure) and 90% sulphur 10-12 kg should be used in the cumin field. Seed Rate and Seed Treatment: For the sowing of cumin seeds, 12-15 kg of seed per hectare should be sown in the field. Before sowing, cumin seeds should be treated with vitavax at a rate of 2.5-3 grams per kg to safeguard them from seed-borne illnesses. Irrigation: Irrigation should be performed immediately after sowing. Remember that the irrigation should be light and that the second irrigation should be done 7 days after sowing. Cumin should not be irrigated at the point of flowering. Diseases and Pests: Ukhtha disease, blight, powdery mildew, mahoo, green weeds, thrips, etc. diseases and pests can be prevented by periodic plant inspection.
