Cotton exports may grow up to 30 %
During 2017-18 season, our country is expecting to achieve record growth in cotton exports from last four years. Compared to the earlier year, cotton exports increasing by almost 30 % this year and it will reach up to 75 million bales, said Shri. Atul Ganatra, President of Cotton Association of India (CAI). Higher international prices and weakened rupee have strengthened the cotton exports in the country.
Though, there is huge demand for the cotton exports, but present season is at its fag-end and so, availability of good quality of cotton is limited, said Mr.Ganatra. Pakistan, Bangladesh, China and Vietnam are the major buyer countries of Indian cotton.
