Changes to happen in Agriculture sector
New Delhi: A meeting of the Central Government's Agricultural Empowerment Committee was held to discuss promotion of fundamental changes in the country's agriculture sector, to double the yield of farmers, to explore the possibility of private investment in the agriculture sector, to use new techniques like drone and various similar issues.
In the meeting held in the NITI, the convenor of the committee and Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat etc. were also present.
The next committee meeting will be held in Mumbai on August 16. Fadnavis said that the State Governments are expected to inform their ideas and suggestions in terms of changes in the field of agriculture.
