Gram is a sensitive crop to irrigation. If there is more water than required, then there will be a great decrease in productivity due to diseases like wilting and root rot. So, give quantitative water to the crop. There should be minimum distance and length between two ridges. Keep proper time interval between two irrigations as per the local situation and land depth. Also, care should be taken that the soil should not have cracks.
