Brinjal shoot & fruit borer:
This larva stays in the fruit and causes damage and hence farmers do not aware about its damage. Infested fruits become unfit for consumption or sell in the market. Farmers generally do not taking much cares in disposing the infested fruits at the time picking and that is why the pest infestation continues to increase. Spray chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC @ 4 ml or emamectin benzoate 5 WG @ 4 g or pyriproxifen 5% + fenpropathrin 15% EC @ 10 ml per 10 lit of water. Looking to the residues of these insecticides, keep the interval of 22, 03 and 07 days between last spray and picking, respectively.
