Bihar's royal litchi will flourish in South India
In Bihar, people usually taste litchi during the summer season. However, the people of South India will get to taste litchi only in November and December. Infact, the director of the National Litchi Research Center located in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, has said that this time the gardening of royal litchi will be done in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu in winter. For this, preparations were going on for the last seven years by the National Lychee Research Center, which has now been successful. Litchi production training has been conducted Litchi horticulture has started in Wayanad, Idukki, Kalpetta in Kerala state, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Hassan in Karnataka and Palani Hills and Ooty districts of Tamil Nadu. Farmers of these districts have been trained for litchi horticulture. The climate there is favourable for the production of litchi only in the cold season. In South India, litchi fruits will be ready in November and December.
