Bananas will have double the vitamins; tomatoes will be hot as chillies!
New Delhi: Eminent universities are working to make food more nutritious. Australia's Queensland University of Technology has developed a banana that will have twice the amount of vitamin-A than a normal banana. This banana will arrive by 2025.
Not only this, scientists are also developing a tomato, which will be as spicy as green chillies. This tomato will contain capsaicinoid, the same element that makes the chilli spicy. Scientists are activating it in tomatoes with the help of gene editing. Researcher Agustin Sogon of the Brazilian Federal University of Vicosa says that capsaipinoid is also helpful in weight loss.
Tomatoes are easier to grow on a large scale than chillies. Brazil and Ireland are working on it. These tomatoes will be grown by the end of 2019.
