Agriculture after some years
Day by day Indian agriculture is changing for good. The progress is considerable as new changes are being adopted every now and then. The special thing is that you as a farmer are pivotal in all these changes and development. The farmer is the only one who successfully overcomes challenges like the policies of the government, the pressure of globalization, erratic behavior of nature etc. In the era of mobile and internet the exchange of information is very fast and the young generation taking up new initiatives in the agriculture will surely make the farming successful. As the young generation has tendency to adopt new changes in the farming and new technology, the speed of development is good. The healthy competition between the universities run under government rule and the farmers who experiment in their own farms brings out good things. As the same role is performed by the representatives of private companies, it gives support to the farmers. Along with increasing personal business of agriculture inputs, they make the farmers wise, too, this is very beneficial role.
Earlier, the inter cultural practices were performed in the summer soil for many months in traditional farming and especially 4 bullocks were used for ploughing in immense heat. After that the sowing used to be done depending on the arrival of monsoon. The seeds used were simple not any hybrid or improved variety was used.Only traditional seeds stored at home were used. The organic FYM from own cattle shed was used. Now the situation has changed completely. As soon as the crop is harvested and sent to the market, the farm gets ready for the next crop. There is no need of ploughing or harrowing.Rotavator makes the farm ready overnight. The delicate saplings grown in the cocopeat in the nursery are ready for plantation. In the earlier times, water was given by channel method and plantation was done on furrows. Now, drip irrigation is used along with polythene mulching and ultra modern crop cover. Farmer tends to the crop as if it is his baby. And why not? This is necessary to increase the yield using modern technology. In the old times, water from well was fetched in leather bucket and then the farm was irrigated. But now the technology has changed rapidly. Now the leather bucket has become obsolete and motor can be switched on and off even from abroad as it has got auto starter. This helps to know the water level sitting at home. while adopting technology from developed countries, drip irrigation and soluble fertilizers are helping to save water and increase quality agriculture yield. Many Changes came with the changing time.In the coming days, the machinization will be boon for agriculture in many different ways.We will witness the changes and the revolution they bring. This revolution will be harbinger of the bright future of India. Buddhimaan aur Balwaan! Jai Kisan!
