A grass type to be blamed for the loss of wheat worth Rs 4000 crore annually
At present, farmers growing wheat crops in 25 countries including India are suffering a lot due to particulate grass. This grass significantly reduces the crop yield by 80 per cent, causing a loss of about 4000 crores to the farmers in a year. This problem is not just in our country but also in about 25 countries in the world.
Recently, the Asian Pacific Weed Science Society organized the 27th APWSS conference in Malaysia, which was attended by 330 participants from 25 countries around the world. In this, Dr Samundar Singh, Head of the Department of Agronomy of HAU, from Hisar, as a plenary speaker, told how to stop this grass. Farmers should spray medicine immediately after sowing to avoid damage. This will reduce grass growth from 70-80%. Farmers should spray the medicines interchangeably. It is advisable to use the medicines recommended by the government and ICAR.
