New Delhi: The online mandi launched by the Modi government to double the income of farmers has been successful. According to the data released by the government, so far about 1.65 crore farmers of the country have joined this market. Its name is National Agricultural Market Scheme (E-NAAM). Let us tell you that till 2017 only 17 thousand farmers were connected with e-mandi. E-Naam is an electronic agriculture portal that works to connect the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee across India into a single network. The aim is to provide a market for agricultural products at the national level. Seeing the benefits from this, farmers are increasingly engaging with it.
The agricultural produce market located in different states of the country under the e-naam has been connected through the Internet. It is an online trading platform for selling various agricultural commodities in the country. This market facilitates online trading of commodities to farmers, traders and buyers. Due to e-naam, now there is no broker between the farmer and the buyer, not only the farmer but also the customers get its benefit.
