Nashik – Season of grapes in the Nashik district is over now and there was record export of grapes this year. Till 9th May, 1 lakh 46 thousand 113 tonnes of grapes are exported. Out of these 11 lakh 647 tonnes grapes are exported to the European countries and 34,466 tonnes of grapes are exported to the other countries. Out of this exported grapes, Nashik district has 91% share.
In this district, the total area under cultivation of grapes is 58,367.43 hectares. Out of it, Niphad has 21,941 hectares, Dindori has 15,758.93 hectares, Nashik Taluka has 11,671 hectares, and Chandwad has 5,148 hectares area under cultivation. Out of it 24,625 hectares grapes were registered on 24,625 hectares for exports. Under this in grape net system, 38,478 grape plots were registered. Out of total area under cultivation of grapes, crops on 60% area was already registered for exports. Grapes from Nashik are exported to the countries like Russia, China, Canada, Dubai, Malaysia, Germany along with the European countries. In the history of grape export, this is the highest ever quantity of grapes exported. As many as 1,46,113 metric tonnes record grapes are exported to the foreign countries.
