Tomar appealed to farmers to adopt the best farming method to maximize kharif yield!
New Delhi: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar appealed to the farmers to adopt best farming practices to maximize crop production during the current kharif season. In a letter to farmers, Tomar said that agricultural production has become the pivot of the country's economy. By adopting better crop management practices, agricultural production can be increased manifold. It is necessary to plan in advance, make the right decisions and implement them at the farm level.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisaged a self-reliant India, keeping agriculture and villages at the center. Tomar said, "How should we ensure abundant production of kharif crops? In the present case, farmers are playing a big responsibility of increasing agricultural production. Production is not just for its welfare but for the welfare of the entire country. ”
He said that with the onset of monsoon in most parts of the country, the minister said that sowing of kharif crops has also been completed in many places, and work is going on in other areas. In the letter, he also mentions pulses seed treatment with Rhizobium bacteria, balanced use of nitrogen fertilizers with potash and phosphorus according to the Soil Health Card and the best irrigation methods. Stating that the country has been effectively dealing with the coronavirus crisis for the last three months, the minister said that rabi crops were harvested and the sale process was completed without any hindrance. He commended the farmers for completing their agricultural work with responsibility and dedication even in the difficult times of lockdown affecting industries and businesses.
